"Seek the truth. Distill your mind. See through the illusions of your enemies. And you will be invincible." - J.F.

Tai Chi, when done correctly, is one of the most powerful martial arts ever developed. The power of Tai Chi comes from the manipulation of Shen Yi Chi, and not muscular strength. It is a kind of effortless power. Since this kind of power is not limited by muscular size, when done correctly anyone, any size, men or women, could achieve a high level of skills and power. Although body structure and alignment helps, it is not essential. It is also not necessary to learn to move fast. Since you only need to move a little, although you may be a lot slower than your opponent in terms of velocity, you are faster than the opponent because you only have to move a little. When Shen is well trained it also gives you the ability to see how the opponent is going to move just before it happens so you could neutralise the attack at exactly the right moment with minimal effort.

Part I: Basic Tai Chi Methods This part explains some of the methods used in the Imperial Yang Family System. Please note that in this section the students had their arms slightly stiffened so that the effect is more obvious which aid in explaining the energy issued. The same energetic principles can be seen in the free form push hand applications section.

Part II: Push Hand Applications This part was video during a push hand session with Dr. Fung and instructor Chak. One of the most important but often neglected step is consolidating the opponent before fajin. You will noticed that whenever Dr. Fung or Chak managed to properly consolidate each other, the fajin is clean and crisp. But when the consolidation is not done properly, it becomes sluggish and resembles more a "push" rather than a "bounce".

Part III: Pure Internal, Extention on REV A controversial video clip of Dr. Fung issueing the "An" or "Push Down" energy on instructor Roger through a single point of contact on Dr. Fung's forehead. As in the Tai Chi Classics "Hands are not hands, the whole body are hands." Note that this video is for training the energy and demonstration only*, and Roger had to be sensitive to the energy changes in order to go with the flow.
